I am happy to bring you the first Newsletter using the new design from our web portal. We have been without a proper web platform for half a year, but hopefully the long development time was worth it. I encourage everyone to use our web site to draw attention to your teaching and learning activities and to contribute to our Educational Resources. Special thanks to Thea and her co-workers (Kristian, Johanne and Bjarte) for all the work they have put into our new web pages!
For the spring semester there are several exciting things going on! There will be five iEarth digital learning forums and the program will soon be finalized with the first one taking place on the 2nd of February. In addition, we have planned five topical meetings where we will give a status update on what’s going on in our focus areas lead by the five focus area leaders (Bjarte, Mattias, Anders, Mark and Iver). Thea has made an annual wheel available on our web site giving an overview of meetings, seminars, funding deadlines, conferences and events. Please use it to stay up to date and send an e-mail to Thea if you would like to add something to the wheel. An important date for us is the 1st of March as this is the deadline for the iEarth annual report to HK-dir and we have already started the work on this by gathering documentation on activities, publications, and outreach from iEarth during the last year.
One important goal for next year is to tbe more visible in the educational research community at an international level. We therefore hope that everyone will consider the possibility of attending educational sessions at major conferences such as AGU and EGU.
Happy reading and looking forward to seeing all of you in 2022!
