In the start of this year, Professor Susan Kaspari, a Fulbright grantee in Tromsø for one year from the Department of Geoloical Sciences at Central Washington University, visited Oslo, Bergen and UNIS to give a workshop on integrating SDGs into the curriculum.
Susan has been working on sustainability efforts at CWU where they try to maximise sustainability as an important objective in their strategic plan.
The workshops included an introductory part that provided an overview of sustainability, and how incorporating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into the curriculum can engage and empower students, as well as the value of incorporating sustainability into education.
In the following workshop, participants mapped out how sustainability is currently incorporated into the curriculum, and work to incorporate sustainability into existing courses and assignments.
