Local Field Laboratories (LFL) is a map of easily accessible field localities for teaching, self-study and excursions. Each locality has its own field guide (PDF) that you can open on your phone while standing at the outcrop.
Localities are graded like hiking trails: green (Level 100), blue (Level 200) and red (Level 300), depending on how much prior knowledge they assume. You can filter by bedrock or Quaternary geology, and by travel time (short journey or walking distance).
The map starts in the Bergen area, but the aim is to cover all of Norway. Teachers and students can propose new localities directly from the map using "Suggest a locality". Suggestions are reviewed before they are published, and each approved locality gets its own field guide.
